No vote, no development: Hagrama

The election campaign of various political parties have been intensified for second BTC general election 2010 to be held on April 9, 2010 in BTAD areas. In 35 Mudoibari constituency (open) the election campaign has been speeded up in spite of bad weather. With highest number of voters in Udalguri district, Mudoibori constituency, with 54055 numbers of voters, has been the centre of attraction for all.The lone AGP MCLA in the last BTC, Keshab Deka (former AASU leader) has been faced with tough challenge from BPF candidate and BPF general secretary, Jagadish Sarkar. BTC chief and BPF chairman Hagrama Mahilari personally toured 35 Mudoibari constituency in support of Jagadish Sarkar. Hitting hard at AGP,BJP,BPPF and even his state co partner congress, Hagrama Mahilari addressed a huge election rally at Kalaigaon on March 28, well attended by more than seven thousand people, In his own style of humour he said that people of Mudoibari constituency had to blame themselves for not electing a BPF candidate in the last BTC general election for no developmental works in the constituency at all. He said that Keshab Deka of AGP (the lone AGP MCLA in BTC) could do nothing for people. He was interested only in earning wealth for his kith and kin during the last five years. He also declared that congress had never been a factor in BTAD and the alliance was meant only for the Assam assembly. In his own style he declared that his party would win the ensuing BTC election. He even warned the voters of Mudaibari that if their candidate Jagadish Sarkar was elected in the ensuing poll, hundred percent fund would be released for the development of Mudoibari, otherwise only twenty percent fund would be released. The rally was presided over by Karuna Sargiwari, president, Bhergaon district BPF. The rally was also addressed by Maheswar Baro, MLA, 65 Kalaigaon LAC and Jagadish Sarkar, BPF candidate in the constituency. Both of them appealed people of Mudoibari to vote for BPF for fast development of the society. They also said that they had learned enough lessons during the last five years and would make no mistake in future. BPF leader Dina Nath Das, present EM,BTC, Lwmsraw Daimari, present MCLA Dandi Ram Rabha also addressed the people. It needs mention that a total of six candidates have been contesting the BTC election from 35 Mudoibari. The candidates are-Jagadish Sarkar (BPF); Keshab Deka (AGP); Madhu Musahari (BPPF); Subhas Majumdar (Ind);Anil Baro (Ind); and Bhabi Ram Kachari (UDPF).
