Farmers from across Assam thronged in thousands in Dispur on Thursday to stage demonstration demanding steps to check rampant corruptions that cripples the much-hyped NREGA. Led by Krishak Adhikar Surakhya Sangram Committee general secretary Akhil Gogoi, the farmers arrived in the city in the morning and assembled at the Last Gate for the mammoth protest. Other demands include steps to rein the soaring price line, examplary punishment for those involved in the multi crore scam in the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council.

Yeah, keep it up! There must be some down to earth solution to the problems of the people of Assam.Those in power must listen to the common-man's voice.
