Army open VTC at Aminpara in Udalguri

In pursuance with its endeavor for peace and development in Udalguri district 315 Field Regiment (KARGIL) of the Red Horns Division inaugurated a multi purpose vocational training centre in village Aminapara in Udalguri district.The aim of the project was to develop the skills of the villagers in embroidery, sewing, weaving and poultry. In a colorful function held at village Aminapara, Brigadier K Ravi Prasad, Commander 21 Mountain Artillery Brigade inaugurated the vocational training centre under the banner of Army’s Operation Sadbhavana. On this occasion, SS Meenakshi Sundaram, IAS, DC Udalguri and Anand Prakash Tiwari, IPS, SP Udalguri were also in attendance as the Guests of Honor. Highlighting the need for economic development and upliftment in the region,Brigadier K Ravi Prasad urged the local population to utilize the facilities being made available by the army and generate means of livelihood for themselves. He also stressed upon all members of the society for peace and harmony in the society.He exhorted the locals, irrespective of caste, creed and religion to contribute towards peace, stability and growth of Assam. He assured the people that the Indian Army will always stand by the people of Assam.


On the occasion S.S Meenakshi Sundaram, IAS, DC Udalguri lauded the efforts of 315 Field Regiment (KARGIL) in Udalguri district and assured the army of whole hearted assistance towards growth and development projects in the district.Speaking on the occasion Anand Prakash Tiwari, IPS, SP Udalguri stressed upon the need of the hour towards maintenance of security and harmony in the district. The SP appreciated the efforts taken by the army both towards combating insurgency and under taking various development projects. Hamidur Rahman, former Principal of Kharupetia College also addressed the gathering. On this occasion, the Red Horns Gunners organized a medical camp in association with state administration.Free medical checkup, advise and medicines (worth approx two lacs) were distributed to approx 1376 villagers The inauguration of the Vocational Training Centre, Aminapara and the conduct of the Medical Camp in the village, has been appreciated by the people of the locality.
