Koch Rajbongshi body opposes separate Bodo state

The All Assam Koch Rajbongshi Yuva Chatra Sanmiloni has strongly opposed the demand of a separate Bodo state. A press note released by Mahesh Deka, joint secretary of the state body said that there had never been just one percent similarity between the socio-political situation of Andhra Pradesh and Assam. He said that the comparison between the two states were meaningless. The press release also said that the Bodos had already been enjoying supreme political rights and powers in BTAD areas with just twenty five percent majority ,curtailing the fundamental rights of seventy five percent non Bodo people mostly Koch Rajbongshis. The press note said that the formation of BTAD was unconstitutional in the sense that, vast non Bodo areas, mostly dominated by Koch Rajbongshi people had been included in it. Bodos have been occupying most of the high ranking government jobs in Assam taking advantage of quota and backlogs. The formation of BTAD could never bring peace to the region. The daily killing of hundreds of people in BTAD would justify it, the press release said.


The Koch Rajbongshi people feel that the formation of separate Bodo state would create Palestine like situation in Assam where general people,mostly Koch Rajbongshis would suffer. The All Assam Koch Rajbongshi Yuva Chatra Sanmiloni has appealed all the democratic forces of Assam to unite against any move to divide Assam. The Sanmiloni said that the rights of various ethnic groups of Assam could be well protected within the present boundaries of Assam. The leaders of the organization warned that Koch Rajbongshi people would not hesitate to launch agitation for their homeland , Kamatapur if any move was made to divide Assam. An important meeting of the state body of the organization has been convened at Chilarai Bhawan,Boko on January 3,2010 to discuss the matter.The press note requests all the central committee members, president and secretaries of the district committees have been asked to attend the meeting.

The demand of land masses on the basis of ethnicity is a regressive trait in modern day Assam. Nature (or God) never said that Bodos will stay in Kokrajhar, Koch Rajbongshis in Bongaigaon, Misings in Lakhimpur, Ahoms in Dibrugarh, Sonowal Kacaharis in Tinisukia, Kolitas in Guwahati (Kamrup), Tiwas in Morigaon et al,....Shame on us, the people of Assam!

yeah.... its time to think, ASSAM has already being divided and still got internal division due to corrupt politicians n high post occupyings..... why should their be seperation, can't we live together as brothers and sisters.... no one is illiterate... all had the knowledge, time to think, oppose and act against the Anti-Assamese and Anti-Assam.... its better dispersed the illegal Bangladeshis from the heartland of the country

This is actually very very true,If we devide assam in the basis of kalita, Koch, bodo, missing, dimasa, tiwa, koch,sonoal,thengal,Ahom,Rajbansi,saraniya.... then tell me Who are asamese?

In another tragic incident a 40 years old wild makhna elephant has been eletrocuted near SSB camp at Samrang in Udalguri district in the night of October 24. According to information the elephant died on spot after it had come in to contact of loosely erected un authorised electric wires. In a very tragic incident wild elephants killed Karlina Shal (55) and her daughter Jyoti Shal (7) last night at Deepa basti village near Kundarbil at around 2.30 am on September 7. On the other hand two of her grandsons were also injured by the wild herd. According to information the family members tried to escape but a wild makhna of the herd had killed mother and daughter on spot after damaging their houses.So far 18 people have been killed by wild elephants while 2 wild elephants also lost lives in the district in 2014 alone.

It was a national news when 7 elephants were mowed down by a high speed goods train on the 23rd of September 2010 in the 'Elephant Corridors' of North Bengal. Three female, three calves and one tusker was killed. A lactating mother was dragged on the tracks for more than three hundred meters before the train finally came to a halt !! Army deployed in Udalguri district have nabbed one hard-core ULFA militant at Tangla during evening hours on August 19. Acting on a tip-off the Army troops from Borrengajuli camp launched a joint operation with the police in which a listed ULFA cadre was apprehended.The operation took place near the busy market place of Tangla. The arrested cadre has been identified as Khagen Deka (45).One 7.65 mm revolver and two live ammunition have been recovered from the apprehended militant.
