Guwahati : Security forces have decided to launch joint operations against ULFA and KLNLF militants according to well-placed government sources This is obvious, as militants had killed 34 Hindi speaking people in the last five days in Karbi Anglong.Earlier a meeting of the Strategic Group of Unified Command Structure held at Guwahati today discussed about the situation and decided to send 15 more company Para-military forces to Karbi Anglong immediately. Assam chief Minister Tarun Gogoi presided over this meeting, where Special Secretary (Internal Security) of the ministry of Home Affairs, M L Kumwat, and Director NE of the ministry A K Goel, DG, BSF, A K Mitra and his CRPF counterpart S I S Ahmed, GOC IV Core and representatives of different security and intelligence organizations were also present The meeting reviewed the overall security situation in the state in view of the Independence Day celebrations. Later they had attended another meeting at Rani BSF camp where all senior officers of security agencies engaged in counter insurgency operations were also present. Meanwhile the panic-stricken Hindi-speakers have started fleeing Assam fearing more attacks. According to sources hundreds of families have been fed to safer places to save their lives. District Administration of Karbi Anglong has advised every Hindi-speaking people living in the district to take shelter in temporary relief camps till Independence Day of the country is over. Authorities have opened two such camps to shelter Hindi speakers. More than 250 families have already been moved to these two shelters. But there are thousands, who denied flying away and decided to stay back, where they have been living since the days of their forefathers. Meanwhile North East Frontier Railways has rescheduled all trains that travel in night to day hours through trouble torn Karbi Anglong on 14 and 15th of August and. Union Home Minister for state Sriprakash Jaiswal has reached Assam on Tuesday morning to take stock of the situation. He will visit Ampahar, Dolamara and Diphu town to meet the relatives of deceased who were killed by terrorists in last five days
