HC asks APSC to cancel ACS list

In a big blow to the Assam Public Service Commission, the Gauhati High Court on Tuesday stays the list of the successful candidates in the combined competitive examination conducted by the Commission in 2007. The court order came as a division bench of High Court comprising acting Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice Biplob Kumar Sarma was hearing the petition of a group of candidates who alleged gross anomalies and corruption in the examination.

If the corruption begins in administrative services at selection stage itself, how beneficial will be the society, it can be easily interpreted by everybody. In totality, the fame of APSC is on stake at the cost of genuine candidates future too!!!

Assam needs a young dynamic CM in his twenties. Not this old bunch of politicians totally out of sync with today's time. When corruption becomes the motivation of an administration, things go haywire. Assam is no longer meant for the intellect - only thieves prosper here.Absolute shame.

The APSC is a big corruption house. They are simply here just to loot and cheat common people, quite a mockery to the system.The selection is just a money game and greatly politically linked. This organisation should be quased immediately.Bureaucracy is so poor in Assam because of this so called unfit ACS officers.

More than four people have been injured while bomb exploded in the city's busy Fancy Bazar area just before a while. According to information, the bomb which exploded at aroun12.45 pm was planted in a heap of garbage near the Baruah Market in Fancy Bazar. The injured people have been rushed to the hospital. Hundreds of Tiwa Yuva Chatra Parishad and Tiwa Women Welfare Association activists have staged protest at Last Gate on Friday demanding the Sixth Schedule status for the Tiwas along with some others demands. Talking to reporters, the protesters said the demand has not been respondent yet although it was raised in 1967. The Assam Government constituted the Tiwa Autonomous Council but did not include it in the Sixth Schedule. Miffed at this, the two Tiwa bodies have intensified their protest at Dispur Last Gate on Friday. Other demands include the implementation of the Tiwa Language Accord, early election of the Tiwa Council.

There is still protest at Dispur Last Gate by the various organizations demanding steps to end the issues besetting these people for years. Some protesters who were falling ill were rushed to the the Guwahati medical College Hospital. The protesters represent the organisations like All Assam Non Provincialised LP Schools Teachers Association, OBB Teachers Association of Mangaldoio Sub Division, All Assam Deori Students Union. A Central Bureau of Investigation team has started its probe the killing of FCI's North east regional executive director P C Ram in Changsari. According to information, the officials of the investigation team are in talks with the Kamalpur police to receive the inputs. Led by CBI inspector S B Chauhan, the team has sent letters to five people seeking help to probe the case.
