In a big blow to the Assam Public Service Commission, the Gauhati High Court on Tuesday stays the list of the successful candidates in the combined competitive examination conducted by the Commission in 2007. The court order came as a division bench of High Court comprising acting Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice Biplob Kumar Sarma was hearing the petition of a group of candidates who alleged gross anomalies and corruption in the examination.

If the corruption begins in administrative services at selection stage itself, how beneficial will be the society, it can be easily interpreted by everybody. In totality, the fame of APSC is on stake at the cost of genuine candidates future too!!!
Assam needs a young dynamic CM in his twenties. Not this old bunch of politicians totally out of sync with today's time. When corruption becomes the motivation of an administration, things go haywire. Assam is no longer meant for the intellect - only thieves prosper here.Absolute shame.
The APSC is a big corruption house. They are simply here just to loot and cheat common people, quite a mockery to the system.The selection is just a money game and greatly politically linked. This organisation should be quased immediately.Bureaucracy is so poor in Assam because of this so called unfit ACS officers.

The last date for filing of nomination falls on Tuesday for the poll slated for March 26. The opposition lacks consensus on candidate. AGP seeks BJP support to field it's own candidate. The saffron party pins hope on AGP support citing an old pact. The impasse would be over by Monday.
Altogether 10 persons died as the bus carrying them collided it's head on a truck in Tinsukia district of upperAssam on Sunday. The incident took place at around 3 in the afternoon at the busy NH 37 in Digboi. Four persons died on the spot while 5 others died at the OIL Hospital. A moderate tremor struck Assam and it's neighbouring states unleashing panic among the people on Friday. The quake took place at 4:53 in the wee hours when a section of the people came out to the streets in fear. The intensity of the tremor is still not known. There is, however, no report of any lose and casualty.
