The people of Nagaon recently witnessed a cultural evening on Sunday, July 19, which is purely an extravaganza offering mix of song, music, dance and play i.e; a complete cultural show encashing all form of arts in one. The evening was dedicated to Bangla poet Rabindra Nath Tagore and Assamia literature icon Bishnu Prasad Rabha on the occasion of their birth anniversaries. The evening was held in Nagaon Bangali Sammelani Audotarium to its full capacity located in the main city area of town M G Road. As the evening was truly an experience of all form of cultural round-up starting with Rabindra Sangeet comprising both songs and dance items, the credit for organizing such a beautiful event goes to Indian People’s Theatre Association(IPTA), Nagaon chapter and “Natyanjali” , a city based dance organization, who jointly takes all the pain to arrange such a fusion program. Lastly, but not the least one is one play too is enacted by IPTA members. The group dance was a treasure to see primarily due to tender age particapants taking the stage ahead with their preparation and dedicated efforts. The show was sponsored by BSNL, Nagaon office, which is good sign for cultural body to get breathe by corporate involvement in much larger scale in near future.
This 31st July Nagaon is going to witnessed multi-corner fight between candidates mainly supported by Congress and BJP-AGP combine. Though, the total 26 wards are being scattered in many parts of the city, the secular polarization of votes is what going to count most besides past performances of political parties on local issues dealing with basic amenities like food, water, light and inner-roads.
