A nepali language weekly christened “Samaj Darpan” published by Samaj Darpan Prakashan Samitee, Bokajan, Karbianglong Assam was released on July17 at Diphu Press Club by Karbianglong District Journalist Association (KADJA) President Mukul Chandra Bora in gracious presence Saparivar TOP 10 Gorkha of Assam and Principal Correspondent Assam Times a online community newspaper Shri. Nanda Kirati Dewan in a meeting presided over by editor of periodical Shri Sanjeev Kr. Limboo. Samaj Darpan is by far the 1st nepali language newspaper from the largest district of Assam. Addressing the journalists M C Bora lauded the efforts of the youths of various backgrounds for their initiative of bringing out a periodical in their own language and serve the society. Bora also hinted out requirement of atleast one periodical to unite the society and said that the much awaited need of the Gorkha society in Karbianglong was met. He assured all sort of support on behalf of association and Diphu Press Club. Not only the Gorkha society but the whole of Karbianglong also will embrace Samaj Darpan if it proves to be a torch bearer periodical he added and wished a bright future. Young Gorkha journalist Dewan speaking on the occasion said that it was “red letter day” for the Gorkha society of K/A as the release of “Samaj Darpan” is indeed a remarkable event. All the journalist of Diphu Press Club were felicitated with a Gorkhali khodha by Ganesh Pradhan; Chairman cum Managing Director (CMD) of Samaj Darpan Prakashan Samitee. Editor Limbu then introduced the persons behind the periodical namely Biki Sunar Photographer and Circulation Manager, Norbu Tamang Print Co-ordinator, Rajesh Sharma Sub-Editor, Prakash Thapa Staff Reporter, Mahesh Sharma; Executive Editor . In his address Limbu promised to be a torch bearer periodical from the region and thanking all for their gracious presence, he summed up the releasing meeting.
