Juri Barua, daughter of Mr Kartik Barua & Mrs Bulu Barua of Hulangkatoni village, Nazira scored 2nd position in HSSLC Exmination 2009, from Nazira college. Juri got 80 in English,88 in Assamese, 90 in Geography, 92 in Sociology, 92 in Education & 87 in Economies. College authority & different organisations greeted Juri for her achievement. Juri informed us that she will do the B.A. in Nazira college.

A new Anchalik AASU Committe of Nazira was formed in a general meeting on November Sunday. Hemanto Saikia and Sakir Ahmed were selected as the president and secretary of the committee. Pragati Maina Parijat, Nazira organised a 15-day Children's Drama Workshop on July1 to 15, 2012 at Srimanta Sankardev Sanghs Namghar. More than 70 children took part in the workshop. Lakuwa reporter of Guwahati-based television chanel DY365, was physically assaulted by some miscreants at Bihubar, Nazira on Tuesday. They brutally attacked him and smash his camera.
