AGP holding introspection meet

The poll battered Asom Gana Parishad topguns are holding a crucial meeting in Guwahati to discuss the post poll situation in the state.

According to information, the steering body meeting is discussing the party's poll debacle and the probable reasons behind this. A section of leaders is understood to have expressed resentment over the alliance with BJP and allowing some vital seats to BJP in the name of seat sharing deal with the national party.

Notably, the party had to faced stool defeat in the just concluded Lok sabha polls with one seat while it lost to Congress in Lakhimpur and Dibrugarh.

They (AGP) need to bring in young people to the team. In the present situation when the party has bought Prafulla Mahanta , one of the failure CM of Assam who did only things for him may not allow new people to come in. Most of the party people are more than 50 years now. There are only few in between 40-50 and no one will find any visionary leader in between 30 to 40 or below 30 years. The party must restructure its strategy and leave it for new people to come in. Some of the senior people are always needed but failures and criminals must be kicked out from the party.
