Symposium on Current Economic Scenario

Darwin School of Business(DSB), a premiere Management institute of North East, Conducted its third bi annual Symposium on “BEAT THE HEAT- Opportunities in the current economic scenario”, on 29th April ,Wednesday at Darwin auditorium. Dr. Kulendu Pathak, Ex. Vice Chancellor of Dibrugarh University, inaugurated the session.

Dr. T.K.Bharali, Dean, Darwin School of Business while giving his welcome address lauded the efforts put in by the Event group for organizing a bi-annual symposium named “Biz Blitz”. The Chief Guest, Dr. Kulendu Pathak, during his inaugural address highlighted that China is overall better than India, but in terms of IT sector china is lacking behind India because of language.

Emphasizing on the unemployment problem in Assam as well India, Dr Sunil Kumar Saikia from Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship said that that there are 7 lakhs jobless people in the northeast region. Therefore he stressed on the potential resources that are available in North eastern region like horticulture, agriculture etc.

Dr. Amiya Sharma, Director Rastriya Gramin Vikash Nidhi, Guwahati spoke on the role of electronic media alarming general people on the policy of globalization, growth rate of India. Moreover he has also defined recession, GDP of India, stock market and impact of recession on stock market.

The programme was attended by eminent academicians and guests, students from D S B and some other institutes, faculty members from different institutes apart from media persons. The event was sponsored by Acer Mall.
