Narrow escape for Assam MP; 3 killed

Three persons were killed when NDFB (Daimary) rebels ambushed the convoy of Kokrajhar MP and BPF candidate Sansuma Khungur Bwiswmuthiary in the district on Friday. Mr. Bwiswmuthiary, however, had a narrow escape.

Bwiswmuthiary, along with journalists and BTC heavyweights were ambushed by the rebels from hills on both sides of the road near Panbari in the district as they were on the way to Bogoribari where the rebels set on fire several houses. According to information, two security guards and Bodoland Territorial Council executive member Mono Kumar Brahma's driver were killed, while four others in the convoy were seriously injured.

None of the journalists accompanying in a separate vehicle were hurt, though all the vehicles were damaged in the firing. The rebels fired indiscriminately at the MP's convoy forcing even the locals moving in the area to lie down on the ground for safety. BTC chief executive Hagrama Mohilary along with police rushed there, while the army, police and paramilitary forces under the Unified Command Structure had launched a search operation to nab the culprits.

There is a political conspiracy behind the attacked.Everyone wants to be in the power but no body works to do for the development of their own people. Both BPF and BPPF parties are fighting each other to hold the power. On 16 May,their destiny will be decided. After they hold real power post one has to wait and see how much they are going to do development work in BTAD.
