Central observer seized four mike-sets

The central election observer of Barpeta Lok Sabha constituency Kabita Gupta today visited various areas and seized four mike-sets of different political parties as they could not produce any proof of permission. The parties that used these loud speakers are: AGP -2 sets; Saamjbadi Party -1 and Rastrabadi Senadal - 1. Moreover, central observer Kabita Gupta also has taken action against some of the political parties for violating model code and conduct of election. Mentionable that one electioneering office of congress at Barbala Bazar near Kaljhar under No. 6 Sarukshetri LAC was evicted on April16 which was at government land. Likewise, another electioneering office of congress at Garemari Bazar under No. 43 Barpeta LAC was evicted on April 15 for same reason. On the other hand, at Jania Bazar, another congress election campaign office was removed under Jania LAC. An election hording of congress that was put up illegally in the public place that caused inconvenience to the public at Howly Jain Bazar was also removed.

The central obsrever Kavita Gupta expressed concerned over the large scale of violation of the model code of conduct by the political parties. The Deputy Commissioner has urged the political parties to strictly follow the model code of conduct so that he is not forced to take any panel action.
