'Congress has come to the people of Assam with a new slogan'

“Congress has come to the people of Assam with a new slogan, new face and their slogan of this time is Development for all, which is nothing but doll-drum of Tarun Gogoi led congress govt.” said Chandra Mohan Patowary, president, AGP in an election meeting here at Barpeta Govt HS School play ground. He added that Tarun Gogoi-led congress has completely failed to safeguard the lives and properties of the people of Assam, rather hundreds of people had to lose their lives in serial bomb blast during last few months. He again added that congress had developed, but it only benefited the leaders, workers, members of congress party, not the poor people of Assam. The central govt has always treated Assam as step-motherly action and Assam’s problem has not taken as the problem of the nation. He said that if NDA govt. will come in Delhi, then Assam will be benefited in many ways and all the burning problems of Assam such as B’deshi migration, Indo-Bangla border seal, unemployment problem etc. would be solved. This term, in Loksabha election congress party and their leaders has completely forgotten the rules and regulations of a democratic country and blame AGP-BJP alliance and seat sharing.

Another speaker Kumar Deepak Das, MP in his address said that there was not enough time to fall central UPA govt and very soon NDA govt. would come at Delhi again. He added that there was nothing in the Manifesto’ of congress. Assam’s flood problem is not a national issue for central govt, whereas Bihar’s flood problem is their own problem. In this Tarun Gogoi led Assam govt. there are about 23 lakhs unemployed youths. Regarding minority support he said that minorities are always with AGP. In this meeting Dhruba Prasad Baishya and Palit Bora,VP, BJP, state committee; Pabindra Deka,AGP, Ranjeet Das,BJP, Shafiqul Hussain, BJP, Abdul Hamid, AGP,etc were also addressed. The BJP supported AGP Barpeta candidate Bhupen Roy urged all the present people to vote for him and give chance to the people of this area. The meeting was conducted by Gunindra Nath Das, MLA Barpeta.
