6 injured in Sadiya shoot out incident

Six youths were left injured when some unidentified miscreants started indiscriminate firing at them as they were engaged in a OIL survey on Tuesday at Bhismaknaga in Sadiya bordering Arunachal Pradesh.

The injured youths have been identified as Jitu Burahgohain, Hirumani Bailung, Rupeswar Burahgohain, Dipak Gogoi, Jagot Burahgohain, Dimple Burahgohain and Zintu and they were shifted to hospital.

They were engaged in the OIL survey in the area under contractor Naren Sonowal.

An uneasy situation is prevailing in the entire area after the incident. Police investigation is in progress. Notably, a section of people from the neighbouring state has been opposing the seismic survey.
