Army Adventure Club’s peace mission on wheels.
Army Adventure Club, under Red Horn Division has launched a 600 km long cycle rally cum mobile medical camp on March 20 at 11 am. Commanding Officer Col. AK Borah of 65 FD Regiment flagged off the rally at Chapai Army camp. A team of 17 army cyclists headed by Lt. Shamsher K Kiran as the chief and Subedar Prem Singh as the Dy. Chief took part in the programme accompanied by a medical team,scheduled to visit Kalaigaon-Udalguri-Misamari-Harchuba-Chariduar-Thakurbari, before returning to Brigade HQ at Hatigarh on March 28.

Medical Officer of the mission Capt. (Dr)Deepak Sukla of the 65 FD regiment told media persons at Kalaigaon that the aim of the adventure would be to spread the message of peace and to create awareness on sanitation and good health care among the people of the three districts namely Darrang,Udalguri and Sonitpur. He said that medical check up camps would be arranged at any places on route depending upon public need where free medical check up and free medicine would be provided to the people.The other aspect of the mission would be to provide information on the matter of enrolment in the wings of the Army. According to Capt. (Dr.) Sukla, members of the mission would also tell people particularly the youths about various weaponry system of Indian Army This has been the first such mission of the army in Udalguri district as told by Major Rajat Choudhuri, who formally received the members of the mission at Kalaigaon Army camp.
