After months of will-they-won't-they, BJP formally struck deal with BJP on Thursday for the upcoming Lok sabha polls. Thus, AGP has decided to go with the NDA.
Addressing a pres conference in new Delhi on Thursday AGP president Chandra Mohan Patowary and BJP chief Rajnath Singh said the BJP will contest eight seats while the remaining six would go with AGP. They however said they would fight unitedly in the next Assembly polls also.
The decision was finalised on Wednesday night in Delhi.
According to Singh, the BJP would be the major partner for the Lok Sabha elections but in the same breath the AGP would be the senior partner for the Assembly polls.
Advani said the NDA had been successful in breaking the four-decade long rule of a single party and establishing a bipolar polity.
Patowary said Assam happenings will reflect the country and that Advaniji would become the Prime Minister and under his leadership, the problems of the country will be resolved.
