Assam's Bhoot Jolokia has become famous as the worlds hottest chilly a few months back. Guinness Book of World Records has awarded this title to our very own red chili and the media all across has been covering this event widely. But almost all reports in English named this chilly as “ghost chilly” translating the name directly from Assamese. In Assamese “bhut” stands for “ghost”.Bhot actually means people of Bhutan. Awarded chili is Bhot Jolokiya not Bhut Jolokiya In Assam everyone knows it. Some journalist made this mistake sometime back and it is continuing

Thanks to Mr. Neog for the report. Regarding the name of 'Bhoot jalakia' re(?)search should be done how this variety of chilly got this name. Hope to get feedback. Would like to know details about this variety.

Actually the so called bhoot chilly is entirely found in the north east region of India. So better not to comment on the name or whatsever. There is no doubt that it has got great quality .so dear, if u really want to know then contect me..

BTW..... its total bullsh** that its BHOT JOLOKIA.. its actually "bhoot jolokia" and it means ghost chilly in assamese because of the hot spicy taste it produces. and crossword jolokia is pronounced as jo-lo-ki-aa

A minor boy was killed and five others have been injured when a power grenade exploded a crowded market in Udalguri on Monday. The incident took place when two motorcycle born militants lobbed a grenade as they drove through a busy market, killing the minor boy and wounding five other people. An Airtel employee was injured when armed miscreants attacked him in Nagaon town on Monday. Narah was the Member of Consultative Committee in the Ministries of Communications, Petroleum and Natural Gas. She was also member of various important committees like committees on Urban and Rural Development, Defence, Transport, Tourism and Culture. She was also the captain of Assam women's cricket team.
Chief minister Tarun Gogoi and his Manipur counterpart, Okram Ibobi Singh, are dead opposed to any move by the Centre to agree to NSCN (IM)'s demand for territorial integration of Naga- inhabited areas of Assam and Manipur with Nagaland.
Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Friday, Gogoi said that NSCN (IM) wants to carve out a greater Nagaland by including all Naga-inhabited areas of Manipur, Assam and Arunchal Pradesh to the present state of Nagaland. According to him, the Centre should have held consultation with Dispur before reaching such a pact.
