ULFA help slur: Gogoi asks peacenickers to show evidence

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has offered to quit politics if the pro-talk ULFA rebels could show the evidence that they helped Congress come to power. Addressing a press conference in Dispur on Thursday, Gogoi said he and his party needed no help from ULFA and other terrorist outfits to come to the hot seat. Gogoi found it strange and said ULFA boycotted the elections but now they claimed thier help. "I would quit politics if they can prove what they claim," said the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister further said a Rs 2100 crore fiscal deficit awaits Assam due to the global melt down. But in the same breath, he denied any closure of job opportunities.

This is not surprising et all. The congress party is like that only. It supports illegal settlement of crores of Bangladesis & mass conversions to christianity as they are ready vote bank for them. Shame on indians who repeatedly choose traitors to rule themselves. shame!

Assam observed Me-dam-me-phi on Tuesday to worship of ancestors by the Ahoms. The Centre and ULFA’s pro talk faction are gearing up for yet another round of peace talks in February. According to sources, the ULFA delegation is expected to hold talks with Union home ministry heavyweights in presence of peace interlocutor in the first fortnight of February. Security forces step up their offensive against NSCN militants who are unleashing a string of violence in Dima Hasao district. The militant of the Naga insurgent outfits have been arrested in on Monday. The NSCN militants were arrested during a combing operation in Lodi areas in the morning. Four AK-47 rifles have been seized from their possession along with eight magazines and 515 rounds of live bullets. They were identified as Keisibng Zemi and Senglovi wazmi. Keishing was involved in the abduction and killing in Umrangsu.

The Guahati High Court on Monday rejected his plea to commute his death sentence to lifer a few days after it completed hearing of the petition. Three persons including a child died at a tragic road accident in Barpeta district on Monday. The accident took place at around 5-30 in the evening when a speeding truck rammed into a motorcycle at Gobardhana. The deceased were identified as Apurba Kock, his wife Satyabati Koch and their son Palashjyoti. Two others injured in the accident have been rushed to the Guwahati Medical College Hospital.
