Children park at Sukapha

Well known NGO Probah has setup a full fledged Children Park at Sukapha, near the burial ground of Ahom kings of Charaideo. The park will provide all round amusement facilities to the Children and its construction expenditure is nearly one crore Rupees. The Park was opened on last 30th January, 2009, where ex-minister of Assam Hemoprova Saikia, Zilla President Hemo Gogoi & President of Probah Debobrata Saikia were also present along with their guests.

Bike mishap kills one

Abhijit Dulakhakhoria (30) of Namti Dupdor gaon died in a bike accident at 9 AM on Thursday in the main road of Nazira town, when he was trying to cross the road. The other rider Nipul Gogoi (26) was also seriously injured and reffered to the Assam Medical College Hospital of Dibrugarh.

ONGC Assam Asset facing flak

NGOs in Sivasagar district have come down heavily on ONC’s Assam Asset for improper utilization of the Corporate social responsibility fund. A section of local NGOs moved the higher authority with this complaint seeking their intervention. Burning protest against Nazira police

Nazira erupted in massive protest a day after four miscreants, allegedly aided and abetted by a policeman, killed a driver on Friday. SDO car hits minor boy

A six year old boy in Nazira is battling for life at the Assam Medical College Hospital in Dibrugarh after he was hit by a car on which civil SDO was travelling on Friday.The incident where Abonit Sahu sustained injury took place at Nazira town in the morning when he was trying to cross the road to be hit by the car bearing No AS 04 L 0004 owned by the senior administrative officer.

Nazira historian passes away

Noted historian and leading citizen in Nazira Akhil Paniphukan passed away on Friday. The end of the 90 year old Paniphukan came in the wee hours at his own residence in Nazira town.
