City serial blast mastermind killed

There is report that ULFA cadre Pranjal Deka alias Biju Sarania, the brain behind the serial blasts in Guwahati on the new year’s day was killed. According to information, he was killed during an encounter with police and army at Halikuchi area in Rongiya on Thursday evening.

Acting on specific inputs, Nalbari police led by SP Jitmol Doley with army launched a joint operation in the area where the encounter took place in the evening. The deceased ULFA cadre was identified as Pranjal Deka..the the main culprit who struck in the city with a string of blast on the new year’s day. His fellow cadres managed to escape.

Burapahar: Some unknown miscreants have hijacked a bus at Burapahar in Assam. The miscreants hijacked the bus at gun point from the Burapahar area in the National Highway 37. GUWAHATI, July 20: A powerful bomb exploded in Srirampur Chariali under Tamarhat police station in Kokrajhar district on Friday killing 4 people and seriously injuring 18 others.The bomb was kept on a bicycle which was kept in front of a shop near the ASTC counter.Two people died on the spot and eight sustained serious injuries. GUWAHATI : The Army on Thursday killed two ULFA militants in Tinsukia district, about 500 kms from Guwahati.
