Hours after the string of blas that rattled the north eastern city of Guwahati, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi spoke to External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee seeking India's diplomatic pressure on Bangladesh so that North Eastern insurgent groups do not find shelter in that country.
Union home minister P Chidambaram who was in the city hold a close door meeting with Gogoi where the Chief Minister admitted to lapses in security forces that could have prevented the blasts. Chidambaram told Gogoi that he would take up the matter with Sheikh Hasina who is expected to take over as Bangladesh Prime Minister soon.
