Govt to root out terrorism: PM

Parties cutting across the party barrier have condemned the serial blast in Guwahati minutes after it rocked the city.

Condemning the terrorist bomb blasts in Guwahati, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today said that the government would root out terrorism taking the recent anti-terror measures to their logical conclusion.

In a statement he said the government will stay steadfast in its determination to root out terrorism and that the measures initiated recently in this direction will be taken to their logical conclusion.

He expressed his deep condolences to the near and dear ones of those killed in the blasts and sympatheis to those injured. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, APCC, APYC, AGP,BJP, AASU and others also condmned the blast on the new year's day.
