The Central Bureau of Investigation begins its probe into the October 30 serial blast in Assam along with the cases of communal violence in its Udalguri and Darrang districts in the first week of October.
According to information, led by DIG P Kamraj, the team is set to visit the violence hit areas including Bongaigaon,Kokrajhar, Barpeta Road along with the riot hot areas of the two lower Assam districts. .
It may be noted that CBI has taken over probe as the state government-constituted Special Investigation Team failed to bring any clues.
Earlier on Thursday, notification to this effect was issued by the Centre after the state government requested for a probe by the agency to go into the details of the case.Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi agreed to suggestions made by various political parties for a CBI probe into the blasts that left 84 people dead and over 400 injured..
