Naina Subba Tungbahwngphe crowned Sikkim Miss Limbu 2024

Naina Subba from Arunachal Pradesh was crowned Sikkim Miss Limbu Season -3 on Sunday at a glittering traditional cultural and talent show in Gangtok on Sunday.  The grand finale of Miss Limboo Season 3 and Mr. Limboo Season 1 were together held at the Manan Kendra in Gangtok in gracious presence of Chief Guest, Cabinet Minister Govt of Sikkim Shri Bhim Hang Limboo, along with Member of Parliament (MP) from Sikkim Lokasabha Dr. Indra Hang Subba and Maneybung Dentam constituency MLA Sudesh Kumar Subba as Guests of Honours who in their addresses encouraged youths to connect with community, travel with the tribe and realize our roots.

Contestants from all districts of Sikkim, as well as from West Bengal, Assam, and Arunachal Pradesh participated in the prestigious event. Naina Subba from Arunachal Pradesh won the Miss Limboo title, while Rahul Limboo from Dikchu, East Sikkim, was crowned Mr. Limboo season 1.

Organisers Sikkim Miss Limbu organisation CEO Binita Mabo Limbu congratulating 2024 edition of Sikkim Miss Limbu said, ' Naina Subba is blessed with beauty, talent and grace who have truly shone throughout the competition and won the crown. She is indeed more than deserving and we are sure she shines on in her career as an entertainer and achieves brilliance in academics too.'

Samnima Limbu from Bhaluthang, Avril Limbu from Simboley both from West Sikkim were respectively crowned 1st and 2nd Runners Up.

Talking to this correspondent Sikkim Miss Limbu 2024 Naina Subba Tungbangphe  said, 'I am indebted to my roots - our ancestors, my immediate family especially my Yuma (grandmother) who is the sole source of my energy.  I must acknowledge and thank our Taaghera Ningwaphumaang our Yumaism godess for showering her blessings on me.'

'Sikkim Miss Limbu 2024 was never my destination but it's the milestone of my journey in learning our Yakthung/  Limbu's rich culture & traditions. Limbu Folk Tales and Songs,  Himalayan raw musics were my interests. I am blessed with so many humble souls in this journey who connected me to explore this world. Limboo Mahasabha, Assam gave a huge platform to perform and Sikkim Miss Limbu Organisation gave the space to spread my wings. I came to Gangtok from a small hamlet Wakro Tezu in Arunachal Pradesh with a negligible number of Limbus but in my neighborhood Tinsukia district of Assam I found a playground to learn and grow.', Naina  recalled while asked to recall her Miss Limbu journey

'A huge hug and a big thank you to the Yakthungs of Assam for thier immense support in my cultural journey and I assure myself that it will continue. I wish to diversify in content creation on simmilar topics besides music videos, documentaries and singing alongside my academics.', an elated Sikkim Miss Limbu 2024 said.

Talking to reporters in the sidelines of the event and Congratulating all the participants Organising CEO Binita Mabo Limbu said, 'We at Sikkim Miss Limbu Organisation are proud of each of you and your contributions to represent our rich Limbu Yakthung culture at this aage and we look forward you carry this forward and represent our tribe in national and international stage. May all the contestants continue to shine and inspire others in their journeys ahead.'
