Sahitya Akademy for Indira Boro

Professor Indira Boro, head of the department of Bodo for Bodoland University, has been named for an award from the Sahitya Akademy for translation in Bodo language.

Dr. Boro has been named for the translation of her book Hirimba (originally written in Assamese by Jayanti Gogoi)

Presently, Boro is the head of the department of Bodo at Bodoland University. She has authored many books in Bodo language and contributed a lot to the uplift and development of Bodo literature.

Several literary lovers and Bodo Sahitya Sabha have congratulated her for being named for the Sahitya Akademy award.

Two persons were killed and a eight-year-old boy received serious injured following thunderbolt hit early this morning in Kokrajhar district. According to a villager, the strong thunderstorms hit the men early this morning around 6.30am at Bishmuri area of Kokrajhar district leaving two persons died and a boy received serious injured. A body identified as Jadav Kisku,45, was recovered from Pakriguri village under Salakati police outpost this morning in Kokrajhar. It was suspected that Kisku was severely beaten to death by unidentified miscreants late last night in the area,police said.
