Eid-ul-Fitr celebrated in Margherita

The holy festival of Islamic people, Eid-ul-Fitr, is being celebrated on tuesday around the world, as well as in Margherita, marking the completion of a  holy month of Ramadan, a month where Islamic religious people fast from dawn to dusk. 

 There has been a positive spirit among Muslim religious people after two years of pandemic. 

Hundreds of people gathered in Nuri Jame Masjid, Margherita on tuesday morning for Namaz as due to heavy rainfall Namaz couldn't be held at Central Margherita Eidgah Maidan. 

After a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 outbreak, Islam people gathered at Nuri Jame Masjid, Margherita  to pray together.

People greet one another every day, put on fresh clothing in the morning, and pray to an unseen God to keep peace and harmony in the world. Eid-ul-Fitr is regarded as one of the most important  festival of Islam religious all over the world. 

It is observed as a day of thankfulness and charitable giving. On the holy day of Eid-ul-Fitr, Islamic religious people were also encouraged to forgive their fellow humans and seek forgiveness from the Almighty.

Abdul Alim, a resident of Masjid Patty, Margherita, said that Eid-ul-Fitr marks the completion of Holy month of Ramadan where on the day of Eid-ul-fitr Islam religious people all over the world gathered at Masjid and Eidgah and offered Namaz and greeted each other by embracing. 

"After Namaz we distribute food, clothes and money to needy people which in  Islam it is said as "Zakat" which Islam religious people believe that paying "Zakat" purifies, blesses and increases the remainder of their wealth" said Abdul Alim.

MARGHERITA: Security forces apprehended two Naga rebels during a stepped up counter insurgency operation in Ledo on Saturday three days after a gang of rebels unleashed a reign of terror inside a coal mining in the area. MARGHERITA: AJYCP leaders and workers in Margherita hit the streets on Wednesday in protest against the move to form the greater Nagalim with the inclusion of some areas of Assam. With banners, play cards and festoones, the protestors shouted slogans warning the government of dire consequences if Assam is forced to shed even an inch of land in the name of Nagalim.
