NEHU seminar on April 28-30

North-Eastern Hill University Shillong is conducting an International Seminar cum workshop on the “Economic and Social Impact of Medical Devices on the Healthcare Sector in the Country” in blended mode, on April 28-30.  The program is being organised by the Design Innovation Centre (DIC) and the Department of Biomedical Engineering, NEHU, Shillong in collaboration and sponsored by ICSSR NERC NEHU and DIC.

The sub-theme of the event focusses on the Growth of Medical Devices in India- Towards Atma Nirbhar Bharat.  The program is being held to bring forth experts from academia, industry, healthcare institutions, government agencies, medical experts and venture capitalists to deliberate their vision and develop the medical technology sector in the North East and India.

Dr. Dinesh Bhatia, the program coordinator apprised regarding the involvement of Health experts from NEIGHRIMS, NEIAH, CMC, Vellore shall be present at the virtual program. Well known experts from IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, AMTZ, Visakhapatnam, IIT, Madras, and PRIME Hub, Government of Meghalaya have been invited to help interns learn about Innovation, Entrepreneurship and modern business practices.Industry experts from India and abroad such as Australia and Canada shall join the session virtually during the Seminar to share their experience with the participants. Local entrepreneurs within the state and across would be deliberating during the event.

The three-day Hybrid program will be organized from 28th to 30th April,2022 at the Seminar Room, Department of Biomedical Engineering, NEHU, Shillong.
