Ganja smuggler sustained bullet injuies
KOKRAJHAR: A Ganja smuggler was shot at by police in the Bishmuri area of Kokrajhar district late Wednesday night. The incident happened in Kokrajhar in Bishmuri. The victim was rushed to the RNB civil hospital in Kokrajhar. Mukesh Kumar of Bihar was identified as the victim.
As previously reported on Wednesday, the police arrested three people in connection with the recovery of 91 kgs of ganja in Karigaon.
According to police, in connection with a follow-up search carried out in the Bishmuri OP area, where more ganga packets were believed to be hidden, based on the confession of the driver Mukesh Kumar.
Police claimed: 'While searching for the consignment, Mukesh Kumar attempted to snatch the weapon of one of the constables and tried to flee the scene. The case's I/O fired one round into the air in an attempt to stop the fleeing accused driver, but he did not stop. Another round needed to stop him.
Meanwhile, some miscreants set the Scorpio vehicle on fire that was kept near Karigaon.

KOKRAJHAR: The ruling partner in the state alliance government, the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has said that the their party is going to participate in the ensuing 2020 BTC general elections.
Speaking the reporters at Kokrajhar Press Club on Sunday, AGP leader Subir Chakraborty told that his party was fully prepared to contest the council elections due in March-April 2020 under the alliance spirits of BJP-BPF-AGP in the state. KOKRAJHAR: An eight-member delegation of a special review committee on detention center, led by chairman Debojit Mukherjee visited the detention center in Kokrajhar on Tuesday.
The delegation members include Debojit Mukherjee, deputy inspector of police (Border) and chairman of the committee, district judge (retired) H Singh, IGP of Prisons Barnali Sharma, D Saikia, AIG of Prisons and several senior police officials.
There are 142 inmates including 14 minors are kept in the Kokrajhar detention center.
There are six detention centers across the state.
