AJYCP burns Pema Khandu's effigy
Asom Jatiyotabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) Tinsukia district committee on Tuesday burnt the effigy of Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu near AJYCP Tinsukia district committee office in protest against Graffiti Artist Nilim Mahanta's arrest by Arunachal Pradesh police from his residence at Lakhimpur on Sunday.
Surojit Moran was the joint secretary of AJYCP Central committee. Hunmoni Chaliha was the president. Kanchan Borah was the General Secretary of AJYCP Tinsukia district committee. They were all present during the burning effigy and shouted various slogans against Chief minister Prema Khandu and BJP led Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
Kanchan Borah mentioned that Nilim Mahanta is a renowned graffiti artist of Assam. He painted several paintings, but on Sunday he was arrested from his residence by Arunachal Pradesh police because he painted "No Big Dams" on the walls of Arunachal Pradesh.

The Margherita unit of BJP has suspended its president Bhim Karmakar for 5 days in connection with the recent acrimonious situation at a party function in Tinsukia.Party insiders told Assam Times that Karmakar was allegedly involved in the scuffle that took place at the function attended by Siddhartha Bhattacharya where the party workers tried to be flanked by the State president on November 16.
