Guwahati: The killer COVID19 has claimed yet another life on Thursday which came to light only on Friday.

The victim is said to have been a 16-year-old girl who belonged to the family of a staff of B Barooah Cancer Institute who died on Thursday. But the virus was tracked out only after her death.
The entire premier cancer institute of the northeastern region has been sealed.

Apart from 4 other COVID19 cases have been confirmed in Guwahati on Thursday night. They include a post-graduate medical student at the Guwahati Medical College Hospital.

Identified as Dr. Litikesh Dutta,  the doctor was engaged in the COVID 19 check-up at GMCH from May 2. For the last couple of days, he was unwell with fever and cough and on Thursday evening he tested positive to be quarantined for treatment.

The confirmation of 4 cases on a single day in the city has suggested the silent spread of the virus that has been wreaked no less havoc across the country.

Four other people including 3 of a family tested positive in Cachar in the morning and again the number of active cases has gone up to 19.
