ABMSU demands for justice to Lafikul murder case
KOKRAJHAR: A two-hour sit-in-protest dharna was staged on Wednesday at children park near DC office demanding justice to the Lafikul Islam Ahmed murder case, and stopping increased atrocities on minority community in the name of doubtful D-voters in the state.
The All BTC Minority Students Union (ABMSU) has expressed unhappiness over the delay in releasing the investigation reports of the central bureau of investigation (CBI) on the murder of Lafikul Islam Ahmed, former president of the organisation. The students union demanded identification of the involved culprits and strong punishment.
The students union alleged that although two-year passed of the Lafikul Islam Ahmed murder case, neither culprits were booked nor CBI's reports come out public.
Lafikul was murdered by unidentified armed miscreants on August 1, 2017 at Titaguri bazar.
Special investigation team (SIT) set up by state government had conducted investigation into murder case and no reports were released so far. Later the central bureau of investigation (CBI) was given charge of the murder investigation.
Hundreds of students activists from ABMSU and minority community with banner, placards participated the protest dharna and shouted slogans seeking justice to the Lafikul murder case.
A memorandum was submitted to the chief minister through the deputy commissioner, Kokrajhar.
The students union is also strongly opposing the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 in the state. The students union has urged to the government to make rethinks over the bill.

Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) team won the trophy defeating Lai Autonomous Council (LADC) of Mizoram 1-0 in the final match of inter sixth schedule premier league -2022 being held at SAI SAG center,Kathalguri Titaguri in Kokrajhar district.
