A city in school in Kolkata has become the first of a group of schools in eastern India to adopt the philosophy ‘Learn to Learn’ for its teachers, parents and students.
The ‘Intellectual Meet to usher in the 21st Century teaching and learning methodology for students & parents’, was held at Our Lady Queen of the Missions School (QMS) – Salt Lake, Kolkata, on 7th September 2019.
Eminent personalities and educationists from various states of East and North-East India participated in the day-long event.
“Unlike other e-learning portals that provide content and courses, Edubrisk is a process oriented platform built using the latest technology and software bringing in a conceptual shift in the teaching and learning practices,” said Edubrisk founder and chief mentor Commander Saiju Aravind, a former Naval Officer and DRDO Scientist.
Revealing the secret of learning Edupreneur Aravind said, “The idea is to break down the big picture, into small steps and celebrate each milestone. The sense of achievement and success will spur the student to learn and stay engaged in the long run.”
The Edubrisk method essentially trains the teachers, parents and students in the process of brain-friendly teaching and learning, by interweaving aural, visual and other aids to make the lessons interesting and memorable.
“We have decided to usher in the platform in order to further enhance the potential and confidence of our students to reach higher goals and be learners for life,” says Sr. Joicy Madhacherry, Provincial Leader Central India Province.
“The platform has great potential to augment the teaching potential in our school, where teachers will be able to explain their specific subjects at the level where a student can fully grasp and assimilate it,” said Sr. Sherly Sebastian, Principal of QMS, Salt Lake.
“The platform with its methodology of imparting knowledge is a boon for teachers teaching in non-homogenous classrooms and promises to aid our school to raise the overall performance of each student,” said Sr. Rani Jacob, Principal of QMS, Park Circus.
“Education is a Human Right, so is Right to Education” says Dr. George Panicker, Chief Strategic Advisor, Edubrisk.
Explaining further Dr. Panicker said,“Here is the platform that positively contributes towards the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations (SDG 4), ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.”
Similar intellectual meets are planned to be held in other metro cities shortly. END
