On the occasion of 58th National Teachers' Day, Hojai District Administration felicitated 27 teachers which includes retired as well as working teachers of the district, who has immensely contributed in the upliftment of education.
The programme was organised at Swarn Jayanti Bhawan in Hojai on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Dr. Amalendu Chakraborty, Vice - Chancellor, Rabindranath Tagore University enlightend everyone with the importance of Teacher in shaping a Student's life. He said everyone should respect Teachers, how bigger a student may be.
Guest of Honour DC Tanmoy Pratim Borgohain said Teachers are the social engineer, without them we cannot imagine of a civilsed society.
At the very outset, Sarswait vandhana was recited by the Students of Sankardev Vidya Niketan School which was followed by lighting of lamp and floral tribute infront of the potrait of former President of India, Bharat Ratna Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose birth anniversary is celebrated as Teachers Day.
Many other eminent dignitaries also shared the dais.
The day was also celebrated with day long programme by Assam Skill Development Mission trainees at Asian Infotech in Hojai. In Murajhar's Guidance Junior college the day was celebrated in a befitting manner and three retired teachers of the area were honoured. And, all the Students in every school and college celebrated the day with ethuthiasm.
