Hojai Congress expels 8 and suspends 1

Hojai District Congress Committee expels its two Zila Parishad members, Six Binnakandi Block PRI's and suspends Binnakandi Block Congress Committee President, a Press Release by Bijoy Chakraborty,General Secretary, Hojai DCC stated.

As per the release, a Joint Meeting of District Executive Committee of Hojai District Congress Committee and Block Congress Presidents under Hojai DCC held on Saturday at Rajib Bhawan,Lanka under the President ship of Dr. Ardhendu Kumar Dey,President,DCC,Hojai to discuss the written allegation made by Mrs. Rezia Sultana, Ex-Chair Person of Hojai Zila Parishad.

The release further stated that after through discussion, unanimously three resolutions has been taken.

 Md. Noor Ahmed, member Daboka ZPC and Md. Newaj Uddin, member Nilbagan ZPC  are hereby expelled for their antiparty activities and favouring BJP at the time of no confidence vote against Mrs. Rezia Sultana, Chairperson of Hojai Zila Parishad.

Six PRI's of Binnakandi Block namely Minakshi Baglary,President,Changmaji G.P, Dipa Das,APM,Baliram G.P, Pranballab Debnath,APM,Supergaon G.P, Pratim Choudhury,APM,Jamnamukh G.P, Kamal Uddin,APM,Bheloguri G.P and Jahanara Begum, APM, Nagayapam have been expelled for their antiparty activities and establish relationship with BJP.

Rehan Uddin, President Binnakandi Block Congress Committee has been suspended from Saturday until further order is released, for his antiparty activities and initiative to promote the above mentioned persons to establish relationship with BJP .

Youth electrocuted

Sensation Prevailed in Nilbagan under Hojai District, as one youth died of electrocution, while working at his home on Wednesday evening. The youth is Muna Ahmed(22), s/o  Nazrul Isam. The family immediately rushed him to Nilbagan Adarsha Hospital but Doctors declared him brought dead. Meanwhile, Murajhar Police got the information. They reached at deceased home and took the body in their custody and sent to Nagaon Civil Hospital for Postmertem. Covid-19 positive case in Hojai

Sensation Prevailed in the district. As at Lanka five persons of Heath Department viz asha-workers, nurse and fourth grade employee working at Lanka Preliminary Health Centre came out to be COVID-19 positive. As per information, the swab samples of these five were taken few days back, the report of which came on Sunday. The five person has no travel history. At present, the main gate of the Heath Centre is closed and whole centre is being sansitized. On the other hand, three positive cases were reported from Daboka. Hojai: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday took stock of various flood affected areas  in Hojai district. CM visited viz, Hatimura,Dakshin Kenduguri, Nabhanga,Jugijaan Villages here. Notably, due to incessant rain last week, the Kopili and Jamuna river were over-flooded as a consequence of which many villages of the district were submerged in first wave of flood.
