Kargil Divas Observed

A Series of program conducted at C  coy, 24 Bn SSB Rangia to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Kargil Victory Day which held from 20 to 26th July. In this occasion drawing and essay writing competition was held at the adopted school of Rajagarh in the presence of school teachers and prominent persons of the village.

Prizes were distributed among the winners and students were made aware about the supreme sacrifices, dedication and devotion of our soldiers demonstrated during the Kargil War.

A volley ball tournment was organised between the SSB jawans and  No. 4 Rajagarh boys. The later became winners and rewarded with Sports Jersey's and items. In the evening a candle march was organized in the presence of Dhiraj Kr. Saha Asst. Comdt., AC/Comm. Shri S. Sanjiva Rao, Inspector Alok Kr. Sarma, Inspector Apurva Sarkar and the prominent person of Rajagarh at the street between Rajagarh to Saharia Chowk.

During the entire course of celebration of Kargil Vijay Divas, the message by comdt. 24th Bn were passed to the lacal populance of Rajagarh to mark the importance of Kargil Vijay Diwas.

Shock and sensation gripped Dimakuchi after a local boy went missing from a picnic spot on Sunday. Police and SSB jawans have been jointly carrying a search operation since he was declared missing from Bogamati along the Indo-Bhutan border as he along his friends were on a visit. His friends who accompanied Niranjan Rajbanshi said that despite stiff resistance, the son of Keshav Rajbanshi started climbing up the hilly terrain bordering Bhutan and did not return.
One Nareshwar Boro (45) was found dead in a paddy field in Nonaikhas in Dimakuchi on ednesday. Boro took his cows to the field for grazing in the morning. The electric fence was electrified by his neighbor one Rana Magar to protect crops from the wild jumbos. Later police officials went into the site and sent the body for postmortem.
