Mother's Day celebrated

SOS Children's Village of Hojai too celebrated "MOTHER'S DAY" with a special programme amid much fanfare and joy on Friday Evening. On this occasion Smt. Akanksha Jain, Wife Of  Ankur Jain,IPS Superitendient of Police Hojai district, graced the event as Chief Guest and Smt. Purabi Gogoi, Child Development Project Officer, Lanka graced as Guest Of Honour.

At very outset, lamp was lighted infront of the potrait of the founder father of SOS Children's Village  Dr. Hermann Gmeiner   by the guests along with Paresh Badyakar, Director of the Village which was
followed by musicial chorus Welcome Song sang by the Children's and an oath was taken by everyone present to keep their Mothers Always Happy.Speaking on the Occasion, Chief Guest  Smt. Akanksha Jain said," The role of Mother in a child's life is of utmost importance, Mother is  Small Word, but it has profound meaning, We cannot express it". She said,"A Mother lays Foundation stone in a child's life, they play a pivotal role in the over all development of a Child". "SOS Children's Village is doing exemplary work it cannot be compared with anyother organisation", Jain added. At last, Smt. Jain also announced to sponsor one child of SOS Children's Village Hojai and thanked the organisation for inviting her on this auspious occasion. CDPO Purabi Gogoi in her speech discussed about the significance of a Mother in a Child's life.

A Total of 19 Mothers, 8 Aunts and 6 Retired Mothers of SOS Children's Village were honoured on this special occasion. Children's entralled through their mesmerizing  cultural performance and also showed their love, affection toward's their beloved Mother.

Earlier in the beginning, Paresh Badyakar, Director of the Village read the message sent by President Of SOS Children's Village Of India S Sandilya and  General Secretary Mrs. Anuja Bansal. Along with other, Volunteers Felix Darlong,Joseph Shadap, Satyajit Dutta,    Swrang Narzary and  Dhruba Nath played significant role in managing the whole event.

Notably, The SOS Children’s Village is an international NGO which began its operations in 1964 in India. It has offices in 134 countries across the world.

HOJAI:The Hojai district administration has urged the citizens to remain calm on Sunday when the authorities would publish the first part of the NRC draft. Addressing an awareness meeting in the headquarter town on Friday, DC MP Singh said if one does not find out one's there is nothing to be worried. These would enlisted in the next phase. Singh, flanked by SP and Circle Officer said no genuine Indian citizen would be kept our in the updated NRC and that the print outs would be available in the seva kendras from Monday morning.
Hojai: A Medical Health check-up camp was organised by DAIPARC, TI NGO under Assam State AIDS Control Society, (National AIDS Control Organisation & Health & family welfare of Assam) in collaboration with Hojai FRU on Thursday at FCI Road, Hojai. Total 114 numbers of beneficiaries had availed the service through the medical Health check-up camp. The target group were mainly truck drivers, migrants and FSW. 
  HOJAI:A boomtime for road overbridge awaits Assam. Courtesy Northeast Frontier Railway. Railway minister of state Rajen Gohain laid the foundation stone of the first roadover bridge in Hojai and Lanka at a function here on Monday. In his speech, Gohain said the ₹45 crore bridge would help Lanka and Hojai ease traffic congestion which has been a huge problem in the entire area. Gohain announced that NF Railway was fully prepared to bear 50% expenditure for 48 such bridges across the state jointly with the government. Hojai MLA Shiladitya Deb, Rupak Sarma, Nagaon MLA, Dimbeswar Das, Raha MLA, NF Railway general manager were prominent among those who attended the function.
HOJAI: The police in Hojai have stepped up operations to rescue a minor boy who has gone missing from the town two days back. The incident took place on Friday even where Yashir Ahmed Talukdar from Donkeygaon has not come back to home after he went out to tution. His mother moved the police on Saturday who have been looking for the missing who is a Class IX student if Markaz Academy.
HOJAI:Normal life in Hojai town remained totally disrupted on Friday following the 12 hour bandh call in protest against a flyover that triggers controversy in the nook and corner of the town. Very few vehicles were plying on the roads while schools and colleges, shops and markets, banks and offices remained closed from morning to evening. There is no report of any untoward incident during the bandh hours.
HOJAI:Once again forest and power departments have come in for sharp criticism over electrocution of wild tusker in Hojai. The incident took  place Salmarajaan when a huge herd of wild elephants which came down to the paddy field in search of food caught in contact with high voltage electric cables on Friday wee hours. Local villagers spotted the carcass in the morning. They alleged that the light posts are very short in height and even the cultivators could come in contact any moment. They further strongly blamed it to the forest department for failing to control the wild tuskers which has been unleashing terror at regular intervals.
