Thunderstruck kills 1,left 2 injuries
At least two persons died and two others received serious injuries due to thunderstorm struck in lower Assam's Chirang and Barpeta districts on Sunday.
A 16 year old girl died and two others received serious injuries of a family at a remote village due to thunderstruck in Chirang district. A heavy thunderstorm and rain at around 4.30 in the afternoon which claimed a student of class X student of Bishdowa village, Panbari in Chirang district. The deceased was identified as Ajmina Kathun, daughter of Ajijul Haque. Two others of the same family received serious injuries. They were immediately rushed to local hospital.
In a separate incident at Barpeta Road, an elderly woman died in wall collapsed at Shimlaguri in Barpeta district. The elderly woman was identified as Mahamaya Debnath (80). She was inside her house when wall collapsed due to heavy rain and thunderstorm this afternoon.

According to police, two people were travelling on a bike and met with mishaps that claimed two people on the spot at a roadside parking dumper in Pakriguri along JD Road late at night around 2.15 am on Tuesday night under Kokrajhar police station.
