Keshai Khaity Puja held in Nagaon

The Keshai Khaity puja was held by the Lalung community of Nagaon district April 26. It is believed that a Keshai Khaity temple was established by the forefathers of the tribe in the year 1266 A.D.From then onwards worship is being carried out by every generation yearly in the month of April. It is very interesting to note that only the male counterpart of the community can take part in the worship, the females can only be the spectators from a distance.
