Christmas celebrates in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar: Along with rest of the state, the Merry Christmas was celebrated in Kokrajhar,heart of BTAD administration with festivity like environment which was started from midnight of  Monday, being organised at various churches including Donbosco Church,Kokrajhar Town Baptist Church.

 Assam Minister for Social welfare department, Pramila Rani Brahma attended at a prayer session on the occasion of Merry Christmas  celebration at Don Bosco church,Kokrajhar today morning.

 In Kokrajhar, the Churches are seen decorated with beautiful lighting and reflection on the Holy Day celebration of the Lord Jesus.

A mass prayer session was organized on the occasion of birth aniversary Lord Jesus Christ as Merry Christmas where thousands of devotee and followers of the Christian religion participated I the prayer and worship seeking bless from Lord Jesus on his anniversary.

Minister Brahma while attending at the prayer session, has extended her best greetings to the whole citizens of the state and prayed to the Lord Jesus to gain healthy state and prosperous life among the citizens. She said that Jesus spreaded his peace and loving message among human beings in the world. She has emphasized healthy society and integration among human life said she will dedicate more to offer services for the welfare of the children as well peoples in her life in coming days.

'I do offer my worship and prayer to the Lord Jesus to make a peaceful and healthy state through integrated environment while paving the way united society among all sections of the communities ', Brahma said.

Devotee and followers of Christian religion presented a Merry Christmas Carol dance this afternoon after having mass prayer on the celebration of Merry Christmas at Kokrajhar Town Baptist Church,Kadamtala. Devotees performed singing songs with traditional music instruments which has created devotion attractions among christian followers on the day.

Arun Basumatray,oganiser of the Carol dance said that the Merry Christmas was celebrated with festivity mood which saw huge participation and now celebrated Carol dancing and singing songs to mark the Merry Christmas.

‘We enjoyed merry making and festivity environment on the Merry Christmas Day celebration where all walks of life from Christian believers participated the celebration’,he added.

A 12-years-old youth identified as Som Soren of Santipur Ultapani was died on the spot and another received serious injured following trampled by wild elephant late last night at Ultapani along the Indo-Bhutan border area in Kokrajhar district.  According to villagers, a herd of 4 wild elephants reached the No.2 Santipur village late last night and attacked the villagers where the youth was died on the spot and another received serious injured.
