Two NDFB-S cadres held

Kokrajhar:  Security forces apprehended two Myanmar-trained hardcore cadres of the National Democratic Front of Boroland-Saoraigwra faction (NDFB-S) from Ripu Reseve forest area on Monday morning in Kokrajhar district. The cadres recently moved into Kokrajhar district from Myanmar’s Taga camp.

According to police, based on specific tip off  regarding movement of a group of NDFB(S) cadres in Ripu Reserve Forest, a joint search operation was  launched the operation in the wee hours of Monday by Kokrajhar Police along with 210 battalion of CRPF Cobra  camp based at Patgaon.

During the operation, multiple ambushes were laid  between Ride No.6-7 of Ripu Reserve Forest and at about 5.45 AM in the early morning,  two suspected cadres along with backpacks were observed  and accordingly they were nabbed by the operational team inside the jungle area.

In preliminary enquiry, they revealed themselves as Rabin Wary alias Rou Rou (24) of Hazarkia,Serfanguri of Kokrajhar district and Risima Narzary alias N. Ruju (18) of Garlabari, Sidli of Chirang  district.

They are 42nd batch cadres of banned NDFB(S) organization and are involved in extortion, recruitment of new cadres & other anti-national activities in Kokrajhar district. They were in Taga Camp, Myanmar and recently infiltrated into Kokrajhar district. Another NDFB(S) cadre, who also came with them from Myanmar is hiding somewhere in BTAD area.

  Two hand grenades (one Chinese and one No.36), backpacks, cash amount of Rs.1450 have been recovered and accordingly seized from their possession.

An FIR has been registered with Serfanguri PS Case No. 60/2018.

KOKRAHAR: A sense of alarm has gripped the Jharbari area after a timber smuggler was discovered dead in a firing incident during the early hours of the morning in Kokrajhar.
