Rongjali Bwisagu in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar:  The Rongjali Bwisagu celebration is going on with pomp and festive fervor in Kokrajhar as the Bohag month is today entered 8th day on Sunday. 

Priya Brahma of Bishmuri in Kokrajhar has been crowned Bwisagi Khungri in the Rongjali Bwisagu Pwrbw organised in Kokrajhar.

Tinu Basumatary and Jeni Narzary of Kokrajhar town adjusted first and second runners up in the Bwisagi Khungri Pwrbw respectively.

Bwisagi Khungri Priya was awarded a gorden crown and cash Rs. 10,000 while first runners up was awarded cah Rs. 8000 and second runners up Rs. 5000 respectively.

The Rongjali Bwisagu Pwrbw was concluded today with two programme scheduled at Science College auditorium in Kokrajhar.

The Kokrajhar Rongjali Bwisagu Pwrbw celebration committee organised the Rongjali Bwisagu Pwrbw at Bhatarmari village and UN Academy,Kokrajhar organised Rongjali Bwisagu Pwrbw with daylong programme. Huge peoples from all walks of life participated the Bwisagu pwrbw celebrations wira traditional music instruments like Kham, Shifung, Jota etc thai created amusement.A cultural ralat was aksi carried out in Kokrajhar to mark the Bwisagu celebration followed sappling plantations at Bhatarmari LP school in Kokrajhar.

The School Management Committee of UN Academy Kokrajhar organised Rongjali Bwisagu Pwrbw with great enthusiastic environment. Student, teacher and guardians took part in the Bwisagu celebration.

Assam forest minister Pramila Rani Brahma attended teh occasion as chief guest anda handed obat the Bwisagi Khungri award.

Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) team won the trophy defeating Lai Autonomous Council (LADC) of Mizoram 1-0 in the final match of inter sixth schedule premier league -2022 being held at SAI SAG center,Kathalguri Titaguri in Kokrajhar district. Professor Indira Boro, head of the department of Bodo for Bodoland University, has been named for an award from the Sahitya Akademy for translation in Bodo language. Dr. Boro has been named for the translation of her book Hirimba (originally written in Assamese by Jayanti Gogoi) Presently, Boro is the head of the department of Bodo at Bodoland University. She has authored many books in Bodo language and contributed a lot to the uplift and development of Bodo literature. Amid a strict security vigil, arrested Gujrat Congress MLA Jignesh Mevani was brought to Kokrajhar police station and later produced before the chief judicial magistrate (CJM) court. Mevani was sent into police custody for three days. Mevani was arrested late last night in Gujarat by Assam Police after BJP leader Arup Kumar Dey filed an FIR with Kokrajhar police station. KOKRAJHAR: A Ganja smuggler was shot at by police in the Bishmuri area of Kokrajhar district late Wednesday night. The incident happened  in Kokrajhar in Bishmuri. The victim was rushed to the RNB civil hospital in Kokrajhar. Mukesh Kumar of Bihar was identified as the victim. KOKRAJHAR: The police nabbed three people with 91 Kgs of Ganja on Karigaon national highway in Kokrajhar on Wednesday.. The arrested persons were identified as Hasanur Rahman, Mithun Miya of Mankachar and Mukesh Kumar of Bihar. BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary was granted bail on Saturday and released against case CR 34/2020, accused of section 120-B/500 IPC from CJM court in Kokrajhar. Pramod Boro, the president of the United People’s Party of Luwahati, filed a complaint against  Mohilary, the former chief of Bodoland Territorial Council, at the court of CJM Kokrajhar for making derogatory remarks about him in February 2020. The bail was granted by Kokrajhar's chief judicial magistrate.
