Akhil tears apart Centre

GUWAHATI: KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi on Friday tore apart the NDA government at the Centre for removing the special category state status for the northeastern states.

Talking to reporters in Guwahati, Gogoi said, "Assam is known for pathetic economic health where there is hardly any process of development. The state has been lagging behind on the infrastructure front. The Centre accorded special category status in 1969 to help the state get more fund. But the BJP led  government has finished it.”

“Not only Assam. Other north eastern states will have to pay heavy price after losing the status thanks to Narendra Modi,”said the KMSS leader.
