Festivity ends in Hojai

HOJAI:"Gangaur" the  18 days festival concluded on  Tuesday  with the immersion of statue' s of  Lord Shiva and Parvati at Shivbari Ghat in Hojai. This Puja is mainly done by the newly married bride and young girls.

Talking to Assam Times, Sushila Rathi said," Young girls and newly married bride mainly celebrates this festival  to appease Lord Shiv and Parvati and take their blessings for their happy married life."

At Shivbari ghat after the immersion the ladies and girls were seen smearing colours to each other.

The Vishal Mega Mart shopping complex opened in Hojai on Monday.
