Focus on Anukul philosophy
TANGLA: Nearly two thousand disciples of Thakur Anukulchandra from various parts of the state thronged Satsang Vihar in Tangla on Sunday to mark the 31st Foundation Day.
Apart from religious songs and prayers throughout the day, a discussion on Thakur’s philosophy and universal peace was also held on the occasion.
Retired Principal of V.B.P High School,Kopati, Pradip Malakar presided over the function flanked by Dr. N.C Mitra who delivered sermon on the ocassion.
“Satsang Vihar is a movement that promotes amity and tolerance among people, irrespective of their religious affiliations. Thakur's philosophy on the values of humanity is extremely relevant in today's world," Pradip Malakar said.
The Tangla Satsang Vihar was inaugurated by Acharya Dev Sri Sri Dada way back in March 1987.

The villagers of Gohaikhat in the outskirts of Tangla has built a Mejhi Ghar in the form of a Titanic ship. The 26 ft long mejhi ghar has been built with the help of near about 70 bamboos by the villagers. Two persons were killed and eight others sustained serious injury in a tragic road mishap in MB Road Tangla on Saturday. A team of Assam Police of Kalaigaon Police station led by Sub-Inspector Dhiren Borah recovered a stolen bike from Tangla town on January 3 last. The bike was stolen from Kalaigaon weekly market area on December 13. The owner of the stolen bike is Tapan Das, a resident of village Bhehguri. The police said that the stolen bike bearing registration number AS-13B 5591 was recovered on Sunday evening and two bike lifters were also arrested from Tangla. They have been identified as Dhanjyoti Deka , son of Gajen Deka, and Rajkumar Barman, son of Nripen Barman. Kalaigaon police have registered a case 239/15 under IPC 379 and forwarded the bike lifters to Udalguri district Jail.
