Over loaded dumpers carrying construction materials, of late, have started unleashing a huge havoc on the Mangaldai-Bhutiachang SH-4 these days.
A couple of lives has already lost. More such incidents are in store if this havoc us not properly done away with. From morning to evening these dumpers keep plying on this busy road causing immense inconvenience for the school and college goers who normally go on foot.
Policemen keep patrolling on the road, forest officials keep sitting in the gates. But none of them check these dumpers to ascertain the validity of stones, timber and sands.
The police men who deal with the traffic also keep mum as they come to see the over loaded speeding trucks keep moving on the road with blowing reckless horns from dusk to drawn.
A major road mishap was averted on Friday when a speeding overloaded stone carrying dumper slipped into the roadside near Tangla H.S school. Truck which belong to a construction company hit a speed breaker before it met with the mishap.
“This is a case of rash driving which could have killed the people who keep travelling on foot. Local residents came out and thrashed both the driver and his assistant and handed the duo over to the police,”said a local resident.
Many local residents have demanded steps to divert these heavy vehicles to ensure safety of the commuters.
