Huge protest rally in Maibong

HAFLONG: A huge gathering in Maibong on Monday has warned the government of dire consequences if it proceeds to annex Dima Hasao district into the proposed greater Nagalim or allows the hills district to be covered by a satellite development authority.

AASU adviser Samujjal Bhattacharya, ABSU general secretary Pramod Boro who attended the rally have strongly opposed the alleged arrangement and vowed to resist the move. Same sentiment echoed in what the other speakers told the gathering four days after two protesters were killed in police firing as they blocked a Guwahati bound train at Maibong railhead on protest against the revelation of an RSS man who claimed to have suggested the government to annex the district to be annexed into the proposed greater Nagalim.
