Chittaranajan ailing again
Kokrajhar, Jan 5: Noted Bodo novelist, Chittaranjan Mashahary has been re-hospitalized due to ailment at MRM hospital in Kokrajhar. Mashahary has been suffering from multiple-diseases in his 76-years-old.
BTC executive member Rajib Brahma ensures to bear all kinds of medical expenditures for Mashahary treatment and hope his early recovery.
Mashahary has been ailing for the last five-months back and passing the day’s ill health. He had admitted at Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital in September last and held good health following strong medical care.
He was awarded Sahitya Pension from Assam government for his tremendous literary creation in the state. He also gave away Pramad Chandra Brahma Literary award from BTC administration in 2014. He was also recipient of Sameswari literary award from Bodo sahitya sabha, besides received felicitations from different organizations.

KOKRAJHAR: Police arrested five protesters in Kokrajhar on Wednesday who burnt effigies of chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019.
Activists and members from All Assam Nath Yogi Students Union carried out a protest demonstration along the JD Road near District Computer centre in Kokrajhar against the CAB bill and burnt effigies of Sonowal and Sarma. The protestors staged protest demonstration with shouting slogans demanding early withdrawal of the bill.
The protestors violated CrPC 144 clamp in the district", said a senior police officer.

A day-long workshop on journalism was held at Bodofa House, Baganshali in Kokrajhar on Wednesday. Young journalists from different six districts of the state- Sonitpur, Dhemaji, Udalguri, Baksa, Chirang and Kokrajhar participated the workshop.

KOKRAJHAR: An eight-member delegation of a special review committee on detention center, led by chairman Debojit Mukherjee visited the detention center in Kokrajhar on Tuesday.
The delegation members include Debojit Mukherjee, deputy inspector of police (Border) and chairman of the committee, district judge (retired) H Singh, IGP of Prisons Barnali Sharma, D Saikia, AIG of Prisons and several senior police officials.
There are 142 inmates including 14 minors are kept in the Kokrajhar detention center.
There are six detention centers across the state.
Mukherjee informed that his team visited the detention center reviewing health, medical condition of the inmates.
