GOLAGHAT:Normal life remains paralyzed in Golaghat in view of the 12 hour district bandh on Wednesday in protest against the police excess on a group of protestors in the town on Tuesday.
Roads in the upper Assam district remained deserted from 6 in the morning as six organizations have enforced the bandh call. Shops and markers, schools and colleges, offices and banks have refused to open under the impact of the bandh call.
A section of supporters in many places enforced the bandh call by burning tyres on the vital roads to prevent the movement of vehicles.
At least ten students sustained injury when security forces sprang upon a group of protestors who demanded action against the owners of Bogidhola tea garden who shot at six workers as they demanded wages last week.
They further demanded government intervention to mount pressure on the management to withdraw the lock out.
